DELIGHTFUL SURPRISE

I am so blown away by the generosity of dear blogging friends.

I wanted to show you the lovely surprise I received from Terri at Lavender Between The Cracks
Once I showed an interest in Crazy Quilting, I have received so much encouragement. Terri's parcel contained the most beautiful fabrics, lace motifs to hand dye, the dearest charms... a shoe(I LOVE shoes!) a heart and another "made with love" heart, Then there is beautiful lace and ribbon, along with the wonderful picture motifs. A darling littl pincushion and to top it off a bag of lavender, one of my favourite scents...Her note was written on a special card..
Thank you so much Terri for your sweetness..I will do my best to make something beautiful from all these delights...

DRAGONFLY WINGS

I just had to try Thelma's directions for making dragonfly wings... Check out her tutorial...

I wish I had only used the crystal Angelina , but I added some green and purple and it made it dark and after ironing it didn't show the color...sigh!

Anyway I stuck with it, I used quite a fine wire, (34 guage ) and it was a little hard to keep the shape when I sewed it down... However the first time is always a bit difficult.. I will complete the dragonfly later. .... it is 1 am and my eyes are getting dim!!!!

MORE FAIRY CHARMS

I am always up for a challenge and these little rascals were just that!!
The wire was the problem so I tried fireline which is a strong beading thread(actually a fishing line)
Well, that wasn't any better as the fairies were too floppy.
I looked through my stuff and found some fabric covered wire which was finer...so.. I burned off the covering and cleaned the wire and.....VOILA!!!!. It worked... No blood... no frustrations... so I am finally satisfied........... the middle one is the one I did with the finer wire... I gave her a flower hat..... LOVE IT!!!!
Now I can go to my rug hooking group happy and relaxed....

FAIRY CHARM

When I decided to try this adorable beaded Fairy Charm, I never expected it would take TWO hours, fingers bleeding from being poked with the wire, and a whole lot of frustration!!!!
The first one is always the hardest, and to add to the frustration it was hard to get the wire to go through a bugle bead and size 11 seed bead twice.I used the size 30 wire as per instructions.
I am going to use fireline for the next one and see how that works.......Yes I WILL try again cuase they are so darned cute.

Crazy Patch Bookmarks

Crazy Patch Bookmarks

I was trying to think up some small items for the Studio Tour
nf I thought perhaps some really nice bookmarks would be nice. Lots of times you need a small tuck in gift for a special person.
Sometimes small items for a good price are very popular... anyway..... what do you think of this??

WILD WOMEN

I am part of a Studio Tour in October, so I thought I better get busy and get some things ready. I decided on some WILD WOMEN to begin with . A project like this lets creativity flow madly which I love... I used
some silks, colorful wool ..beads and with the charms I used some alcohol inks to color them. The backing is ultra suede which holds the pin back.... Isn't she "HOTTIE"?
